The Transport Planner will plan the delivery of product orders, maximising the efficiency of vehicles, maintaining adherence to EU Drivers Hours legislation whilst meeting the Customer Service promise. These are permanent Transport Planner roles and will be based out of one of the clients sites close to Runcorn.

Client Details

A UK Wide Logistics Operation that work with a variety of sectors.


The role of the Transport Planner:

  • Ascertain customer order requirements and allocate to appropriate location and availability
  • Create a (Next Day) plan to convert customers orders in to deliveries per vehicle availability, in order to maximise vehicle utilisation and earnings
  • Monitor and amend plan throughout the day to ensure above objectives are met as circumstances change both in advance and on the day of delivery. Manage the plan through to completion.
  • Liaise with customers and commercial teams to ensure requirements are delivered on time from the most cost-effective location.
  • Plan driver days in accordance with the Working Time Directive and EU Drivers Hours legislation.
  • Ensure all quality and system procedures are followed from order to delivery to ensure highest level of customer service, products are supplied as specified and to ensure accurate invoicing.


The Successful Transport Planner Applicant:
  • Previous experience as a Transport Planner
  • Be proficient in the use of TMS and SAP (desirable)
  • Knowledge of certain business streams (to be discussed during screening phase)
  • Knowledge and experience of Road Transport Legislation including Tachographs

Job Offer

Salary: £25k - £30k (dependant on experience)

Hours: Monday - Friday (days)
